Philip J. Fry, a pizza delivery boy, inadvertently freezes himself in 1999 and awakens in a bewildering, futuristic world on New Year's Eve 2999. Struggling to adapt to the outrageous advances in technology and society, Fry embarks on a series of zany adventures alongside a quirky crew of misfits, including a cyclopean captain, a robot with existential woes, and a strong-willed alien, all while seeking his place in this strange new era.
